Welcome to the 41st Annual Statewide Conference for Teachers Serving Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students! We look forward to seeing you at the Hilton Chicago/Oak Brook Hills Resort & Conference Center. Here are times to keep in mind as you plan your travel:

  • 7:30 a.m. - Conference Registration Begins
  • 9:00 a.m. General/Keynote Session Begins

  • Adding a session to your schedule does not reserve your spot in that session. Session capacity is listed for planning purposes only.
  • Be sure to to sign in and sign out with the electronic form each day. If you create a Sched account, you will receive email reminders in the morning and the afternoon. Please see the registration desk If you have any questions.
  • In addition to the sign out form each day, you can leave feedback for individual sessions through your Sched account. Your feedback helps us plan sessions for upcoming events.

We have a large population of refugees from Burma, The Congo and Syria that make up about 31% of our student population. This is about 4800 ELs out of 16,000 students! I am looking for ways to support ELs in the mainstream classroom and content as well as how to best to support newcomers.
